Short introduction to Consignor integration.
All systems can be integrated with Consignor Groups systems, systems such as ERP, WMS webshops and other systems-
This can be done through our 3 platforms:
1. ASCII File drop (Import / Export)
2. SQL Queries
ASCII File drop
This is our most basic integration but also the one most solid, it supports features such as automatic print , commands (update shipments or executing simple tasks remotely from ordersystem).
With the ASCII File drop import we can take in orders from any order system that can provide an ASCII file.
With the ASCII File drop export we can also export relevant order data as tracking URLs etc to the ordersystem.
Concept and workflow of ASCII File integration;
The order system or Consignor is configurated to create a text file (ASCII File), this text file is then set to be dropped into a shared folder which both systems are set to read/write to.
There is separated folders for import and export, Consignor is programmed to always watch over the import folder. At once there is a recognizable file available in the import folder Consignor will read this file and either delete or move it to an backup folder.
The ASCII File have to contain the order information in separated fields, those fields can be separated with either default characters as semicolon ; or default field lengths.
See also our ASCII File drop import guide attached as a PDF to this guide. (for file approval go trough the guide and send us an example file with explanation)
SQL integration allows you to fetch order data directly from Consignor's production view, this query is directly to the ordersystems SQL Database so the Consignor installation have to be on the same network (this integration only works with Consignor)
We have preprogrammed an SQL Integration with the following ERP Systems;
- Visma Business
- Visma Global
- Visma Avendo
- Mamut Enterprise and Office (version 11 and 12)
- Uni Micro
- Microsoft Dynamics NAV
- SAP Business One
- Microsoft Dynamics AX
- PC Kasse
There is also possibilities to program other SQL Query integrations, contact us by registering a request in the top of the customer centre.
A Web service is a method of communications between two electronic devices over the World Wide Web. It is a software function provided at a network address over the web with the service always on as in the concept of utility computing. (- Wikipedia)
We have built 4 open web services for different tasks / integrations, to use these web services you or your order system provider (or webshop provider) have to develop / configure a web service that will communicate with our web services. (See also list of partners / ambassadors that already have configured some web services here..)
This is currently our most used web service, this allows your order system (web shop) to export orders so Consignor can fetch them trough the web service.
You will then be able to look up any orders or contacts in Consignors production view.
With this Web Integration you will also be able to pull back basic information of the shipments created on imported ordernumbers.
This web service is in short terms an API of Consignor, you can build in a range of functionality into your own order system or web shop.
This allows printing, tracking, transmitting and all basic functions inside your own software by calling Shipment Server.
This is not directly an integration but this is a web service where you can fetch order data from Consignor Portal (price, status, tracking etc (we also support return data from a handful of carriers - contact your support if you want to know if your carrier has return data))
ShipAdvisor is a webservice that you can configure in your web shops checkout, ShipAdvisor will then call Consignor and see all freight alternatives. Allowing your end customers to pick the most convenient freight method
