The diagram below illustrates the flow of shipment data in the Consignor platform. When a shipment is submitted in Consignor (Local installation/Ticket/Shipment Server) it will be automatically uploaded to Consignor Portal within 7 seconds for processing. The shipment that is stored in Consignor Portal contains the data on the shipment that was created. When the shipment in Consignor changes status e.g. from submit to transmitted, then the shipment in Consignor Portal will be updated with the last status.
In addition, the shipment on Portal will contain additional information coming from other sources like Scan App, Carrier data, manual editing of data in Ticket, etc.
The shipment will then contain data from Consignor e.g. number of packages, measurements, track and trace, price, status and also data from the carrier like measurements, price, statuses / events (e.g. many carriers support return data where you can track the packages from pickup until they are delivered).
In the Consignor Portal web service application you can inspect the details of your shipments or run different types of reports depending on your needs.
The Portal Data Web Service expose methods that can be used to retrieve the shipment data from Consignor Portal for use in your own system (ERP /web/other).
